Due to the number of manufacturers who are experiencing a severe worker shortage, the Workforce Development committee works with all state agencies and departments to enhance existing programs and develop new ones to address the critical issues of workforce development. Manufacture Alabama aggressively lobbies the education and finance committees of the legislature to secure funding for workforce development programs.  Attracting high school students into Alabama’s manufacturing workforce is a top priority of the committee.  The committee actively works outside of quarterly committee meetings at the local level with other manufacturers, community colleges, ATN centers, and high schools.
